Regularization of officiating promotion if vacant positions are available.

My question is as follows: If an employee is currently officiating in a position that is intended for a sealed cover promotion, can this employee be reverted to their previous position, despite the existence of numerous vacant promotional posts? Additionally, what legal precedents or regulations govern such scenarios?

What do you mean by "......................that is intended for a sealed cover promotion"? your posting short of material facts. Please come up with complete and cogent facts.

You have been placed temporarily in the said post which is lying vacant.

Obsorption to the post by promotion is a different subject to that of holding the post in the officiating capacity.

The person officating the post cannot claim any rights for filling up the post just because he has held that post.

This will fall under promotion policy of the organisation/authority concerned

The officiating person cannot claim to be absorbed in the same assignment.

The concpt of "sealed cover promotion" may be clarified.
