YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY BOUND TO PAY THE OUTSTANDING BILL SINCE THE CONNECTION IS NOT IN YOUR NAME.

Kindly point out the remedy for the nuisance these companies litter as pointed out by Smiley.

It has nothing to do with you, as you could see you are not liable to the said case

the problem is in your friend and if Airtel would send you to the court they have to find first your friend who is liable 

to the said case. It is for you to be dismiss on the said issue. Don't be threatened you'll be fine and your mom.
