Bringing Information to the Citizens

Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. It is an initiative taken by Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to provide a– RTI Portal Gateway to the citizens for quick search of information on the details of first Appellate Authorities,PIOs etc. amongst others, besides access to RTI related information / disclosures published on the web by various Public Authorities under the government of India as well as the State Governments

You can get the information by sending an application under RTI act following the procedures of law in this regard

Hi,

The answer to your question is Yes, the Right to Information Act (RTI Act) 2005 in India empowers citizens to request access to information held by public authorities. Under this Act, individuals, including students, can seek access to case files and other government information by filing an application under this act.

By Drafting a formal application under the RTI Act requesting access to the specific case file. Application should include details such as the name of the person whose case file you're seeking, the date or period when the case was filed, and any other relevant information that might help the authority locate the file.

You can submit your RTI application either online (RTI Portal) or by physically delivering it to the designated PIO (Public Information Officer) of the concerned public authority. There may be a certain amount for submitting the application.

The public authority is required to respond to your RTI application within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. They may either provide you with the requested information or cite valid reasons for denying your request, if applicable.

Hope this solves your query.

Regards,

Vanshika
