Can non-occupant be in managing comittee of Housing Society?

Housing Society managing member who has not been staying in his flat and is non occupant after the elections (since last four years). Does he have right to remain in Managing Committee? What are the norms to be a member in committee.

Any member can become a director in Coop. Housing Sciety. It is regulated by the bylaws .The eligibilty to becomwe a member is stipulated in the bylaws , and once he is admitted as a member , he can avail the facilities entitled .

no, as per bylaws if you do not attend MCM for three months without leave of absence, you cease to be a committee member. As you are away for four years and have not contributed anything to the society you are not eligible to be a committee member.

Mr. Dinesh,you have stated the situation after the non occupant Member of the Committee te maine absent consecutively for three Meetings.But you have accept that a nonoccupant can become a Member of the Managing Committee of the Society. You have not quoted any provision from the Byelaws to present a nonoccupant cannot contest to become the Member of the Managing Committee of the Society.
