Sat, Jan 16 08:04 PM

New Delhi, Jan 16 (PTI) The Lok Adalat today favoured that insurance companies should create a mechanism for sending their officials to the places of accident or to the victims'' place for settling compensation claims. "Create a mechanism for sending Insurance company officials to the spots or to the victims place soon after the accident, for settling compensation, bringing immediate relief to the victims and their relatives," said Justice Dalveer Bhandari, a Supreme Court judge.

The suggestion came on the occasion of sixth Supreme Court Lok Adalat organised by the apex court to settle pending disputes before it amicably. Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, Justices V S Sirpurkar, A K Ganguly and A K Patnaik also took part in the proceedings.

Of 60 cases taken up today, 22 Motor Accident Claim (MACT) cases and two matrimonial cases were settled satisfactorily. Justice also admired the generous approach of the four Nationalised Insurance companies in settling claims.

There are  few Insurence Comapanies , they have  to  create   mechanism  for settlement  of Claims - in units-/Areawise .To  visit the accident place   and family memebrs of the Victim /injured  . This will solve most of  small & medium   claims /MVOP pending in Courts . The facts of the Accident and other particulars will be immidiently noted by the Settlement  Machanisim of Insurence Company/ies  created for this  purpose .The said  mechanisim to be created  Unit wise/ area wise and all the insurence comapnies should   create  the mechanism for settlement of claims at the earliest and to vist the accident place   & Family memebrs  !
