deferment after examanation in chief

whether cross-examination is must immediately after examination in chief on same

or one can seek adjournment for cross exam on next date if yes

then whether party of cross-examination has right to seek deferment if the party desire or it depends on court discretion

Yes always. The court can not refuse deferment if some cause is cited like no preparation for ross examination.

Without cross the testimony has no relevance so it it in the interest of person who has produced witness to allow cross examination.
