Delay in society Share Certificate Transfer

We purchased a resale property in May 2010. We have taken a home loan.
We had received a NOC from society for the home loan process. Our laon was passed smoothly.we got the possession aswell

However when we applied for the society Share certificate name transfer.

The newly appointed secretary denies to transfer it in our name , stating that there is a name Mistake on the original share certificate,( It is H. R Mehta instead of H.N Mehta).

This secretary is a aspiring political leader and very rude to talk to.

He is demanding a bribe of 50000.

Previous owners have washed their hands.

Can anyone help me what is the legal way to come out of this mess and get it trasfered in our name.

Lodge a complaint with the Registrar of Cooperative Society, providing the complete purchase documents. The previous owner also should be roped in cooperation. Meeting the Registrar with complete set of documents would help.

Sir tanks a lot for the advise,

We both are working employees of a pvt firm.

Is there a way we can invole a lawyer or agent to do the necesary action.

If you can refer any body you know in chembur.

Also if you can tell what would be the service cost.

Thanks a ton
