Distress warrant

In an execution case of maintanence under hindu marriage act, if a distress warrant is issued for non payment of maintanence and Police comes to the home of person against whom the distress warrant is issued and if the person is not found at home. Then what? 1) Can police launch a search operation and arrest that person from anywhere? 2) Can police just sieze all his property and send the report with property papers to court? 3) Can police just send a report that the person was not found (if no property found) 4) What else can happen? Please give suitable and right advice as the person is confused
