Gifting land to wife

Hi,

I have 1 acre of agricultural land located near Hosur, Tamil Nadu acquired by virtue of ancentrally.

The land is registered under my name and now i want to gift that to my wife.

Currently, both myself and my wife are residing outside india and cannot travel for this purpose alone.

Can someone suggest how can i transfer this land to her name legally?

You both have to appoint two different persons closely related to both of you to become your power of attorney agents to execute the gift deed and to receive the gift.

Thus you find out two such people, prepare power of attorney deeds, get it attested by an official of Indian consultate or a local notary public, send  it to the power agents in a sealed cover, ask them to approach the concerned sub resigtrar to get the power deeds adjudicated after which they can execute and receive the gift deed accordingly.

Whether no one else (other than yourself) is a coparcerner and/or has title, interest or claim over the subject land, which is stated to be ancestral and not your self-acquired for consideration to be gifted to your wife ?

You can make a gift deed and register through Attorney or simply make a will deed and authenticate it in Indian  Embassy there. The POA can be authenticated too in Indian Embassy
