Hello,

As per me being an owner of the land you have the right to lease out your land for 999 years as per your wish.

How can you give it for 999 years lease period? it is a hypothetical query.

Dr J C Vashista (Advocate)     15 September 2020

Generally lease and licence expire after 99 years, if it is a true story.

Advocate Bhartesh goyal (advocate)     15 September 2020

Hypothetical query ,beside this lease can not be given more than 99 years.

In the past there are very many cases, where lands were given on lease for 99 or 999 years by the then Governments. But they were not LEASE as defined under Transfer of Property Act, but conditional assignment or rather kowls. However, irrespective of the period, the conditions  applied only for a period of 30 years.
