Parliament

Are the Senate and House of Representatives equal to Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, and the Capitol equal to Parliament as well? What the U.S. Congress denote?

Houses in US congress (congress is an equivalent word used in place of "Parliament" in India) consists of the following:-
1. House of Representatives and
2. Senate

Here in India, Lok sabha is elected directly while on the other hand Rajya Sabha is not. However, in US (United States) both the houses of the Congress/Parliament are elected directly by the people.

Each of the state (regardless of their population or size) has two senators.

Congressmen and senators are equivalent to Members of Parliament in India (also known as MP).

On the other side President is an equivalent to Prime Minister in India.
[For Eg:- Donald Trump (former President of US) was equivalent to Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India)]

Governor of a state is equivalent to Chief minister of a state in India.

Hope It Helps
