If the police officer founds after investigation that false case is regd., and there is no witnesses he can file " B " report i.e., false report and close the FIR

(Guest)

Cannot close the FIR without ratification by the Supervising officer which is the SP who decides whther the B report is correct or not.

The Police can submit the cancellation report if the evidence is not sufficient. Section 170 CrPC dealth with the question you raise.

Under Section 170 CrPC r/w 158 CrPC  it is very much clear the the case to be sent to Magistrate when the evidence is sufficient
