The rational behind the Protection of Intellectual property rights is that " the person who has slogged and spent his time and energy in coming out with something new and beneficial should be adequately compensated. " For how long can the world live like a parasite? Take somebody's idea , convert it into money. Intellectuals are never behind money .

Read " Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. All your questions will be answered my dear friend.

If Intellectuals decide not to use thier brains then what? Read " Atlas Shrugged " by the same author.

The main object is to encourage inventions and to see that such inventions are worked in india to the fullest extent on commercial scale for industrial progress to subserve the national interest, and to prevent the abuse of monopoly granted by the patent.
