Dear friends,
Stamp duty in Maharashtra on hypothecation and equitable mortgage (Article 6 of Bombay Stamp Act) for an amount exceeding Rs.5 lacs has been doubled from 0.10% to 0.20% without maximum ceiling w.e.f. 1.7.2009 (Copy of Amendment Act has been uploaded in Files Section).

Thanx for the info. However, kindly clarify whether the duty leveiable flat or slabwise, i.e below and above Rs. 5 lacs.
