I am buying a property in Dum Dum, and trying to register the title Deed at barasat court. For the same, i have taken help of a lawyer. Market value of the property is Rs. 1500000, for which approximately Rs. 100000 is to be paid as stamp duty and rest some Rs. 20000 as registration fee.
The lawyer has adviced me to pay him the entire Rs. 100000 in advance for buying stamp paper, before we do the registry of the title Deed.
My question is...Can i buy stamp paper of less amount, say Rs. 5000, and rest i pay as bank draft or cheque.
Or. please suggest me what is the best of paying the stamp duty and Registration fee
