Tax payment on behalf of client

Hello Sir/Ma'am.

I am new to this, I am doing practice in Tax Law just after State Bar Council Enrollment, my clients are paying their tax to my account and I am paying it to respective govt authorities, will there be any issues in future.

some time thousand and some time in lakhs (for GST and Income tax)

I have one CA friend who doing same and said no issues we can do so, but another friend said no we can not do this.

If you registered yourself as a tax practitioner in the portal, You can do the work on behalf of clients

Thank you for your reply, but I have not seen any registration option as tax practitioner avaiable innew income tax portal, can you please help me to locate it.

Most tax practitioners usually prefer to keep a separate account for client tax payments and separate account for their professional fees.... The tax payment done on behalf of the client and later reimbursed goes in a separate bank account and fees in a separate bank account... By doing this, they can easily explain to the tax officials what portion is reimbursement of tax and what portion is income...
