Sir ,
My parents are threatened by CI and my sister in law in police station to settle this matter for hufe money otherwise CI warned you ll be charged with many cases 498a , DV and some other acts . Wht is the possibility to file as many cases . Even my father told to file case but CI not filing and threatening for settlement wht to do in these circumstances

The provisions of 498A IPC used to be tilted in favour of wife till now. However recently after a Supreme Court judgment its not easy to file cases against relatives without justifiable reasons.
However your Sister in law can file case against her husband.
If such a thing is likely you can seek anticipatory bail. A complaint against CI and sis in law
can be made in Court

You do not have to budge to the pressure mounted on you by police or your wife in the police station. You can take AB and challenge the 498a if filed against you.
