Please enlighten me the most appropriate form of addressing a HC/SC judge. What niceties should be borne in mind while pleading before a HC/SC judge?
Are lady judges to be referred to as 'My Lady' instead of 'My Lord'?

Please dont ask such questions. "Your Honour" is a form which can be used in addressing any Judge including Lady Judge/HC/SC Judge. The second part of the query is quite funny.

Generally we use the word lady for every woman but word 'lady' is feminine of word 'lord'. You may address a woman judge as 'Your Ladyship'. But the Bar Council of India has decided use the word 'Your Honour' or 'Sir'/'Madam'to address any judge.

In the year 2006,it was decided by the Bar Council of India to replace'Your Lordships' to'Sir' or'Mr.Judge'.

Thank you all, Sirs...
But for your kind information, the learned advocates (including Sr. Advocates) of Gauhati High Court do not address the judges of the Hon'ble Gauhati High Court as "Your Honour" or Sir/Madam/Mr.Judge. They invariably say 'My Lord'/'Your Lordship'... "Your Honour" is strictly reserved for the judges/magistrates/munsiffs belonging to the subordinate judiciary.
I'm also aware of the Bar Council of India directive in this context; but our learned bar members seem to ignore that....
To 'palnitkar': "Sorry to have agitated you with my query...but you ought to realise that such queries can be forthcoming only from a novice like me!"

Can you suggest me a few variations of the expression "May I please Your Lordship"?
