Admission of guilt/confession by a co accused.

(Querist) 28 March 2013 This query is : Resolved
The question I would like to ask is this, can an accused implicate other co-accused by telling in his confession/admission of guilt that, the other co accused was also involved in this? What is the legal interpretation of this?
Please provide the latest case law/judicial proclamation regarding this.

Police can investigate the matter in the light of such confession and may implicate other co accused.

But in court such confession is of no value. Even if one accused confesses before court and implicate others, another co accused can not be convicted on the basis of confession of prior one.
