Agricultural land

Dear Sir,

I plan to buy an acre of agricultural land on the outskirts of Bangalore. Since I'm not from the agricultural background I cannot buy the same. However, my Wife's mother hails from village and her Father has several agricultural lands.

Is my wife eligible to procure the land?

The land reforms Act prevent non-agriculturist from buying agricultural properties and in case of violations subject buyer will be charged u/s 72 (a) & (b), with land being taken to govt. custody.
The same can be avoided if u take appropriate approvals before the Asst Commissioner to purchase the land.
Suggest that you consult a lawyer to complete the formalaties
