Ancestral property

Dear sir.
I want to know meaning of ancestral property as per hindu law.sir for me my grandfather selfacquired property is ancestral as per hindu law

What your father inherits from your grand father would be his ancestral property.

I don't agree with Barman. The ancestral property shall become after 3 generations. Means had the mentioned property would have been purchased by father of your grand father then after his demise the same property if had come in inheritance in favour of your grand father then it might have been called as his personal property and if the same property would have come to your father in the same way then it would have been called as ancestral property.
