Can a member of ngo work as employee

(Querist) 10 February 2015 This query is : Resolved
Dear LCI members,

I am a member of society registered under societies act.

I became a member just to form the society. It was four years back.

This is formed for unity to sought out the parking & other welfare related problems of the housing society (AWHO)

I did field some 3/4 petitions/greviances in favour of the society people, xcept that i did not do anything.

No can i also work for the society

If so,

what would it be
employee
employee-member
member-employee
what is the correct name
or

i have to come out of the member position
and then work for the society

Please answer,

Whether you want to work for the society as a paid employee or otherwise?
Gagan Souri (Querist) 11 February 2015
@ rajendra sir,

yes, i want to work part time for that society.

still now i'm not regular but meeting & talking to those society as member when ever they call.

is that not mean working for them i did not take any payment till date for any service, it means that it is not work

so i have to come out and join as employee?

If you are rendering services freely and if you wish to get monetary compensation, make it clear to the Managing Committee that you be taken as part time employee. If they agree, you can join. If they do not, it is for you to extend the free service or stop giving free service. It is not needed to approach this forum for this type of trivial matters.

Vague query with incomplete information and unfit query.
Who has stopped you joining society service?
You may or may not work for the society how the experts are concerned??

There is nothing wrong in taking an employment with the society, it depends.
