Government job is not possible while studying for a regular course of LLB.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 23 October 2015
If appointed you have to take permission of the deptt for continuing study and such permission is no guarantee for leave for classes / exam

If appointed to a Government job, you need to intimate the Head of the Office but you will not be entitled for any concession in attendance or in in performing the tasks assigned.

You should not have handed over the Original Certificates to the College.

It is not possible for doing LLB while in the govt. job. Govt. rules do not permit.
P. Venu (Expert) 23 October 2015
With due respect to learned expert, Shri K.S.Srinivas, it is stated that there is no service rule that prohibits a Government servant from doing an LLB course or, for that matter, any course while in Government job. In fact, I had done my LLB course while in service. It is only that such course of study should not adversely affect the due discharge of duties.

In fact, thousands of Government servants at all levels are pursuing LLB & LLM courses every year. In the recent past, there has been an incident in Kerala where a senior police officer of IG rank has been accused of copying!

1. It is not wrong to apply for any government job, after having enrolled for LL.B.

2. It is not clear whether you are pursuing the LL.B. course during day time or in the evening hours (after office timings) or in the morning hours (prior to office timing).

3. In all the cases, you will be required to take appropriate permission from your Office for pursuing the study after getting the appointment in Government. (Needless to say, you will not get permission in case you are pursuing the course during day time i.e. during office timings.)

4. At the time of enrolment with the Bar Council, now a days there is a requirement (in case where the candidate has pursued the LL.B. course when in employment) to produce a permission letter from the office authority. At least this is the requirement in Delhi. I am not sure about other places..

You may be asked in job application/attestation form to declare your present occupation.

Here you may write 'Student', if you want.

Since you are admitted and have not cancelled the admission you should declare that you are pursuing.................course.

If there is no column and you want to study, you may mention it by hand.

Don't conceal anything.

The college might have verified the originals by now, and must have issued acknowledgment of having received the originals.College can verify from photocopy/self attested copy/attested copy/notarized copy and mark OSV.

Take these back. These are your your property and college has no lien on it.

Respected Sri P.Venu,

Thanks for your correction.

My intention is pursuing LLB day time course may not be possible for discharging official duties during the same hours. Also for making an entry in the service book, prior permission of the Govt. is required.

However, my reply is not conveying the above meaning. Hence, once again thanks for correcting me.

Mr.Kalpesh suryawanshi,

You can request the college authorities for return of the originals. If permissible they will return them. If returned, you can show the originals to the authority concerned in the govt.
