(Querist) 11 May 2016 This query is : Resolved
The def of carpet area under The Real Estate Regulation Act 16 includes area covered by internal partition walls , but till now in redevelopment projects builder measures area of all rooms separately for purpose of carpet area , as a result the area covered by internal partition walls between rooms get excluded which is contrary to lawfull interpretation of carpet area under RERA 16
How to regulate this flaw in projects where yet Development agreements are not yet executed

Please state your real problem, if any.
Kishor Mehta (Expert) 12 May 2016
Sir,

Carpet area of a flat is considered as the usable area covered between the internal walls (as a carpet is laid), thickness of internal walls are not taken into consideration.

Good Luck,
Kishor Mehta
