dear sir
my father belong to OBC category but he has given my name in school in the general category which i intend to change
since i got married and have two childrens and i want to pass on the benefit to my childrens .can you please tell me the procedure. secondly my daughter is now in 10th whether is it mandatory to produce the OBC CERTIFICATE now itself during admission or can i even produce after a year or so for the benefit pl suggest?

You have to make application to the concerned authority for grant of Caste Certificate. You have to submit proof of your caste. Even though the school record is against you, that is not the only proof of caste. The record can be corrected, if it is wrongly prepared. The proof may include the caste certificate given to relatives like uncle, real cousins etc; the customs you follow, evidence of neighbours, evidence of community leaders, research work if any done by scholars and so on.once you get caste certificate from the competent authority, the record can be corrected.

Yes Mr.PVk u can get the caste certificate even now though the school records tell that u belong to general category bt there must be some other records of ur family with other govt authorities which declare u or ur family as OBC. u can obtain them n get ur certificates corrected n hence pass on the benefit to u r children
