sir,
I am 22 years old and my mother and me are willing to build a house in a plot given by my grandfather
in andhrapradesh.Since we had been brought up in a different state I do not know anyone in that place( my father has expired).
We have no own house and do not have any idea about constructing house before.Most of our neighbours are telling that
it is difficult to beleive in most of the contractors since they might cheat and nowadays it is not good to rely on word of mouth.
I do not want to sell the plot due to sentimental reasons.
Can you kindly suggest me how to find a reliable contractor and whom i should approach to take sugession in construction
i.e., if there is some place where we can get the information and guidence about standard contractors and architects.
the plot is in ponnur(guntur district)and also please inform me if I should appoint a lawyer and make agreement with the
contractor.

Dear Jahnavi,
If you don't have any idea about constructions, no support from any one, then it is must and necessary to contact any "House Construction contractors" & " Architect & Builers".
As you are saying that, it is difficult to believe and trust on construction contractos, then you can approach there at Ponnur-Gunture:
(i) any 'Lawyer' for Legal help ;
(ii)'Architect & Planners' for house Plan and design;
(iii) 'Engineers and Estimaters' to get details about estimated price for constructions as per your requirement;
and after consulting all of them, with their help and works, you can "bind" the contractor, as per your requirements for construction of house, by executing a "CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT".
There is no alternative left for you;
either go for above; or
yourself you can stand at spot after getting plan of house from an Architect,
(i) hire for their Engineering Services, if you need, and feel necessary;
(ii) hire 'head mason' for constrution;
(iii) he will hire helpers
(iv) then you can purchase trusted materials as per your need and requirements;
(iii) and construct house, with your ideas

you can enter agreement with turnkey contractors to get it build.consult one advocate to prepare agreement after selection of the contractor.if it is in ap i can refer 1 or 2 names of contractors if you required.
