Such disclosure regarding severing all ties with the son has no force in the eye of law. The wife if she so wishes can still bring charges against her in laws. You better lodge periodic complaint in the local police regarding disputes including threats of your wife to falsely implicate your parents.

You cannot disown your parents, rather parents can disown you any time by issuing a public notice through newspapers. You can, however, live separately from your parents for the sake of mental peace of your family.
If you still feel that your wife can involve your parents, along with you, in some case of domestic violence, you may better adhere the advice of Shri Devajyoti Barman or your parents should disown you to break relations with you and your wife.

There is no law as such to go with for "owning or disowning" any relation or to guide how to remain in relation as friend or foe.More over such exercises are precautionary in nature but does not bar your wife to take actions of her choices with in frame of law.Every thing done would provide you a circumstantial defense in case you all are put to face charges.

Disowning dont save your parents-- if your wife complaints that she suffered cruelty in the hands of husband and his parents and the charge of 498A is levied than just by showing that you were disowned dont save your parents as the wrong they did with the lady cannot be defended on the pretext that you are disowned. There is no use of getting disowned it wont help rest is upto you to waste time on this.
