dear sir
i have received an attestation form by a public sector bank. It has a question "have you ever be fined by court of law?" ... now i have been spot fined by RTO or traffic police once for driving without helmet.... i want to know that does spot fine or challan by RTO or traffic police means fined by court of law? i am confused . what should be my answer to this question? what should i write yes or no? should i have to mention this case in my attestation form

c) Have you ever been kept under detention? Yes / No
d) Have you ever been bound down? Yes / No
e) Have you ever been fined by a Court of Law? Yes / No
f) Have you ever been convicted by a Court of Law Yes / No for any offence?
g) Have you ever been debarred from any Yes / No Examination or rusticated by any University or any other educational authority / Institution ?
h) Have you ever been debarred / disqualified by Yes / No any Public Service Commission / Staff Selection Commission for any of its examination / selection?
i) Is any case pending against you in any court of Yes / No law at the time of filling up this Attestation Form?
j) Is any case pending against you in any Yes / No University / or any other educational authority / Institution at the time of filling up this Attestation form?
k) Whether discharged / expelled / withdrawn from any Yes / No training institution under the Government or otherwise

Hi Abhijeet,
You can tick at 'NO' as you were never prosecuted/fined by a Magistrate/court.Fine by police is a misnomer.They charge 'COMPOUNDING FEE"& NOT FINE,
Go ahead.
You were never fined.
