if it is verbal commitment you can not prove it. However you may exert community pressure so honour his commitment.

Whether in any of the previous year it was paid to you?
In absence of any written agreement it would be difficult to prove your claim in the court. If no amicable solution possible better forget the claim.

It will be difficult to enforce the demand for profit sharing especially if the relationship is employer-employee.

I agree with experts advise. You cannot prove the commitment of payment/sharing the profits in the absence of written document.

All commitments reduced in writing on paper (letterhead with seal and duly signed) has certainly no match.
Delhi Shops and Establishments Act has a provision for recording the promised payouts.
Don’t believe verbal promises in employment.
Explore the alternatives and possibilities now e.g. admission of employer duly recorded (audio/visual/witnessed/minuted/admitted in presence of Employee’s/Trade Unions or Inspector Under Delhi Shops and Establishments Act/Payment of Wages Act) etc………
The unions/community leaders are apt at handling such matters…………….
If you can try..
If you have it you may succeed.
Don’t give up without trying.
