The process of passing the bill till the Act is pronounced finaly, it is called enactment.

Once the President signs the bill it is called Act.

The three wings of India - Legislature, Executive and judiciary

Legislature enacts a law while Executive gives it validity and the Judiciary adjudicates it.

Constitution of India (w.e.f) 26.01.1950 This w.e.f. stands for making Constitution valid in the eyes of the law.

IPC, 1860 ( w.e.f. 06th October 1860) - Englishmen made the IPC before 06th October 1860 --- that was enactment whereas on 06th October 1860 when it received the assent it become valid and whereas the Judiciary adjudicated s.303 as unconstitutional.
