Encumberance certificate for purchase of a property

Dear Sir, can some one tell me how many years of Encumbrance Certificate (EC) is necessary for us to make sure that we are purchasing right legal property in India, Andhra pradhesh

for last 30 years EC.is needed.

yes 30 years title search is necessary . get an advocate to do it . let him issue certificate that property is free from encumbrances
