dda account officer demanding bribe for correcting my water bill amounting of rs 25000. this bill is sending provisionally or estimation basis because meter reading is not possible after taking water connnection in 9/2/10 correct amount is just 800 rs till
31/5/11. but when i go to meet account officer he demand 50% amount of bill as bribe then he will take my electricity bill of nil consumption where just normal rent is charged. and make my bill amount 800 rs.
but i refuse to pay bribe amount and file a rti for demanding the correct amount of water bill but not any appropriate answer is receive yet.
now i want to know whether i should file suit in court or not .
one thing i also want to tell i have deposit the incorrect bill amount as per guidelines mention on back side of bill
now i want refund of my money with correct bill . is ther any compensation possible to receive from dda with expenses related to suit . is it possible to file suit in consumer court .

i deposit the bill of incorrect to save surcharge 5% added in my bill every quarter and save disconnection of water connection on the basis of non payment of bill.
one thing i also want to share is that back side of bill mention in case of any dispute in bill first you deposit the bill amount then extra amount of bill will adjusted in your next bill but i have deposit the huge amount which will take minimun 10 years to adjust and no interest. please guide me what should i do .

For water supply issues in Delhi one has to approach Delhi Jal Board and not DDA.

Yes and if that does not yield any result as well then file a Writ of Mandamus in the Delhi High Court.

why did you not go for trap of bribe demander. What is the use of runnig after Anna when you people do not avail of the existing and effective infrastructure

this is new colony of dda so at the initial period water bill is handle by dda not delhi jal board.
can any body give some more detail about writ

i want to tell about a letter receive from dda says that their record show the consumer name of allottee not mine and i file rti on my name . so they want to know whether i am
authorisaed to received reply or not. this property is freehold on my name but mutation is not done yet that why water bill show name of allottee

in case of trap i think after that much argument and rti they will not come under trap

So the property stands in others name,then billing might also be in that name and if you seek mutation,they shall ask you to clear dues first,but by doing so your right to mutation shall get established on record,at least that you have right title upon the flat,then you shall not be treated a Third person for RTI,and their refusal to mutate you without payment of wrong bill shall give birth to a cause of action to you
to file the writ.
