Profession tax for advocates

Can any one please provide me the government notification of advocates having less than five years of practice in the State of Maharashtra from the date of Registration with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and goa are exempted from paying professional tax
Can we file a PIL for the same if the same is not provided for by the government asking for slabs of professional tax according to the practice and income.

There is no such notification in operation as on day but if you desire can file a PIL for this purpose.

yes profession tax is imposed in maharashtra . it is currently rs 2500 per anuum

Every person residing in Maharashtra engaged in any profession, trade, calling or employment is liable and has to obtain a Certificate of Enrolment from the Profession Tax Authority.
Once this certificate is obtained, the person can discharge their individual tax liability for five years by paying lumpsum amount equal to the amount of Profession Tax for four years in advance, getting relief for one year’s payment.

Advocate are liable to pay Professional Tax in Maharashtra.

since when profession tax is applicable to advocates. The notices r coming from the department since this month that professional tax is applicable to advocates. Don't u think exemption of 5 yrs be given to juniors.

Shri Ajay Sethi has set out the position unambigiously.
I may add that Advocates and others listed are exempt from payment of Professional Tax on attainment of age of 65 years.
