No!It is not mandatory to change your madain name to your matrimonial name on the bar council id and you can continue to practice with the same. But why have you got your PAN card in your matrimonial name;would there not be needed an explanation to corresponding problem between two names you have on different documents?.
V.Mahadevan (Expert) 30 June 2012
Being identified by two names - maiden and matrimonial names - seemingly, may not be legally infirm.
The querist, however, may face, now or later, a host of road blocks on a host of matters relating to securing housing, banking,
insurance, schooling of children and the like.
Better to be realistic and worldly wise.

No, you need not change your maiden name in Bar Council ID. However, you may face problem later on if you have two different title in your documents. Best course of action to solve this problem is to make an affidavit before the 1st Class Executive Magistrate that you shall be know by both the names in future & publish it in local daily. It will solve your future problem if any.

Agree with mahadevan's opinion.Thats better. In order to avoid any future trouble or embarassment,it is advisable Not to live with a dual identity.Having PAN Number etc with one name & vindicating profession with another name can foment trouble in future.Take care !!!!!

Not mandatory but desirable in order to avoid complications elsewhere.U may try using your maiden name alongwith your matrimonial name, e.g., Pooja Khare Batra.
