sir, i am tortured by my inlaws for not fulfilling their dowry demand in full. they demanded it before marriage but my father was able to pay part on marriage and unable to fullfill remaining amount afterwards. Now if i complain in police about the torture and say that at the time of marriage they demanded dowry and my father gave partly so they are torturing me then will my father be punished for giving dowry at the time of marriage ???/ sir my life is in danger . please help me.

Solve it with discussions, and take help of nearby Social workers/ Councillors, to solve the problem.

Act in low profile to save marriage.

file complaint under 498A . the more torture you bear more it will continue . giving of dowry is also an offence

file a complaint against them your father or you are not liable to prosecute for given dowry according to section 7 (3) of dowry prohibition act.
