There is no legal requirement for the respondents to appear in person on the hearing in DVC case. Even the lawyer himself can attend the court on behalf of all respondents.

POWADV Act is a special act which follows almost all the procedures, even the court can adopt its own procedure as held by Apex Court

One lawyer for all respondents can also represent and moreover, the exemption even in the act has been provided so dont worry.
