Society maintainence dispute

Dear Sir,

I live in a leasehold flat in a cooperative housing society in Delhi and due to some dispute i have not paid maintenance in last year or so.

what can the society do to recover it and what are its powers concerning the flat.
can they bar me entry or disconnect power,gas etc?

You should not be defaulter in payment of society charges.
The punitive action would depend on the bye-laws pf the society which does not include disconnection of power.

society can charge you interest at 21%for outstanding dues . take legal proceedings for recovery of dues . it cannot disconnect your electricity , water connection for non payment

Morally, you are using the facility, you should pay. Action from society depends upon the bye laws of the society. Maintenance is common cause managed by representatives.
