(Querist) 30 June 2009 This query is : Resolved
Every day the headlines unleash a new horror. On June 12, three boys take turns at raping a Class XII girl in the backseat of a moving car in Surat and record the act for perversity on their phones. Two days later, India wakes up to the news that actor Shiney Ahuja has been accused of raping his 18-year-old domestic help, who’s half his age and body weight.........................@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

then Shah Sahib what has to be done?

m not able to understand why Indians are going so frustrated abt sex....every thing ends up on sex.

isnt it our moral degradation?

not able to understand to whom to blame for this?

a lot has been discussed and written in this context....but outcome seems to be nil.

our govt. thinks of legalising prostitution, i dont believe its gonna be a solution to this problem.

True....But I personally feel that tougher laws can really help change the situation. Why not Capital Punishment for rapist? Of course, for rarest of the rare case but still there must b a provision which is still restricted to life impri....I would love to see India having Muslim laws in this regard and then those Human Rights will have a point to strike and argue....why should not this topic b discussed at this Group? W might get some gud and worth ideas....wat u say?

but capital punishment does not seem to be a sloution to it....even in Muslim countries such a law has not been able to stop the adversity.

we can not rule out frivolous prosecution in this country.

topic is worth to be discussed no doubts abt it but probably was discussed earlier also.

Dear Members,

The crime is a creature of the society, a fight between the haves and havenots, the lust for money & power and the comforts of leading a luxurious life where whatever is earned the easy way goes off the same way. The main reason being the economic, socio , religious & cultural disparity. Its difficult to guage the mindset of any criminal but I think lot of factors contribute to a crime committed.

rightly said Vishal the mind of an accused can not be gauged easily......but rape like offence can not be attributed ot economic, religious and cultural disparity.

no economics, religion and culture would suggest raping a woman.

Dear Kiran

I have been quoted wrongly out of context by you. I have given opinion on crime in general and not referred to rape anywhere in my comments.
