Donation for trust

We have a registered trust in Mumbai,the trust was registered for last 4 years and not much activity done as per trust deed as donation was not received to that extent, now one of the client abroad willing to pay donation, can we receive the same if yes what is the quantum of amount we can take, what is the procedure ? do we have to inform the charity commissioner or take prior permission. Please clarify?

You must have permission from Min.of Home Affairs under FCRA to receive donation from a foreign country.

It is against law to receive donations from foreign parties without FCRA approval.

For one time donation you can obtain pre-permission from MHA for one time exemption.

If donation is recd. the same should be locked in FD pending approval and should not be used.
