Regarding status of case in court

Respected Sir,

Is there any way for a common citizen like me to get to know status of a criminal case which was filed in court ?

RTI act will come handy in this to know the progress of the case, if trails got started or not etc ?

If so could you please let me know the complete procedure. I have FIR copy, Charge sheet copy with me.

Please help me with my query.

You can apply for certified copy of the case proceedings in the concerned court.

You can also apply to the concerned Police Station under RTI.

Also, many courts in India give online access to the case status.

Are you a party to the case?
If yes then as you have a copy of the charge sheet, you can find out the court and apply for the certified copy of the documents available with the court.

Can you please tell me how to and whom to approach for RTI in the concerned police station ?

Can we apply for certified copy even before the case proceedings start in court ? Even before arguments start ?

If charge sheet filed, the case should be in the court.

You / your lawyer can apply for certified copy of the file on prescribed format by paying the required fee.

Your lawyer can inspect the case file as per procedure of the court.
