Hi
We have a flat in greater noida. But no body is living over there. It is locked. We pay our electricity bills on time.
My husband visited there today and he is being asked to pay the maintenance charges. When we are not using the services over there, then how come they are asking to pay the maintenance charges.

If there are common charges, you are liable to pay.

Your last query is totally different mentioning the accident of your husband and here you are saying your husband visiting some old flat...
Anyways, society Maintenance is not for the internal maintenance of the flat, but it is for the common areas, facilities and amenities. Hence, the maintenance charges are applicable even if it is vacant or located in any state in India, unless it is specifically mentioned in the rule book of that particular society.
