Respected Sir,
Some days ago there was a notification published in the news paper regarding multiple adjournments taken by Advocates of lower and high courts. The S C had said that advocates will not be permitted to take more than 3 adjournments. The question is wether the 3 adjournments which are allowed are for the entire suit period or for each and every appeal and each an every document filed.
Secondly the Judges after giving dates remain absent and the matters are put off for next dates. This causes severe hardship to the litigants and their advocates. The advocates of both the parties are seen literally fighting with each other for new dates which is understood as they have dates with other courts also.
Please give your valuable opinion on the 2 quaries
Thanking you in advance.

Yes!The supreme Court has rightly shown anguish where utter disregard trial courts show towards direction and provisions of Cr.P.C. It was a bride burning case from Punjab where span between chief and cross was 02 years due to adjournment where as a session trial is expected to be run on day to day basis.
The Hindu covered the news throughly and worth looking at.

3 adjournments are not for a whole case rather for a single stage of the case especially the evidence.
There is no solution to the leave taken by judges during the pendacy of the cases as the leave is their right which canot be denied to them.
