Is it a writ petition? or CRP/ what petition your opposite party has filed-in Highcourt? In case they prove your FORGERY BEFORE THE HIHCOURT the High Court may direct the petition to be allowed with costs against you. and order in its discretion to pay the hefty costs on you and pay the costs to the petitioners. ALSO IT MAY DIRECT THE PETITIONERS TO FILE FORGERY CASES UNDER RELEVANT SECTIONS OF IPC AGAINST YOU. it MAY STRIKE OFF YOUR DEFENSE IF IT IS SATISFIED OR CONVINCED ABOUT Your FORGERY. Now let us mention forgery and making a fake document of forgery under IPC. Forgery under the Indian Penal Code is an offense which has been defined in Section 463, while Section 464 deals with the making of a false document. Section 465 deals with the making of a false document. Section 465 prescribes punishment for forgery. "Forged document" is defined in Section 470 while Section 471 deals with the crime of using as genuine, the forged document.

When the document has been placed before the High Court in course of adjudication of any dispute, you must have taken assistance of a lawyer. He is the right person to answer your query in that particular situation. In case the document was filed in exercise of official duty , Govt. may take suitable disciplinary action for such lapse.

Who is the respondent, whether he refuse the statement?
Discuss with your lawyer who is fully aware of the case file.

Your own lawyer that is well versed with the whole matter can opine on it.
