Dear All
I had a dispute with HSBC for a specific amount . They have reported this as writeoff to CIBIL according to the latest report i have obtained
In the meantime their agents continue to to make unsolicited calls and follow up for the outstanding amount
Can a bank on its volition continue to persue a outstanding after it has written it off ?
what is the legal recourse i have

As suggested by Ahmed Bhai, you file a complaint in the local police station and also complain to the bank ombudsman.

Mere sending the name to the CIBIL does not mean that his debt become written off if other wise the same is not time barred.

Author would surely achieve a silent victory in his case against the bank.

You state that the they have reported to CIBIL as written off. Then how you have received a statement after that. Only if there is any outstanding the collection persons will come. If there is no outstanding they wont come, just for harrasing you, it will be a waste of time for them.
If you have received the statement, which says the CIBIL statement, please send it to me. It is a new additional info to me, that the banker is sending statement after written off the account.

Did you really get the CIBIL statement.
Normally, the bank may send its intimation to you about waiver/ writeoff.
So have a scrutiny on that.
If the collection person comes/ phones just threaten them, they will be booked with police.
Even after, if u recv calls, lodge a complaint with local police
