Filing of rti

(Querist) 12 January 2014 This query is : Resolved
I had filed a complaint of cheating against a person in Police station in Rohini in Delhi and I stay in Noida. 5 months have passed no reply has been given by police inspite follow ups.

I want to file RTI.

Is there any provision of filing RTI online for seeking information from Delhi police

or do I have to go personally to police station to file RTI

Thanks

There is no online RTI provision in Delhi Police.

Send it by post.

In Delhi Several designated post offices are working as APIO. You find out such post office near your residence by checking online and visit that post office and file application along with Rs.10/- postal order and you get reply. Note that as per the Criminal Law amendment Act, not registering the FIR in respect of cognizable offence is an offence and the duty officer can be booked for this. You can also send complaint to the higher authorities for not registering your earlier complaint as FIR.
