my friend is an advocate. she argued a case in a trial court. judment is obtained. now the client is refusing to pay her professional fees. she was not paid any amt from beginning. how can she claim her fees back . can she withhold certified copy of judgment or proceed legally

She can only proceed legally. Withholding any documents of or from client is considered as Misconduct and complaint against such Advocate to District Bar Council will add more issues against such Advocate.

Dear Sir,
The advocate and Doctor cannot withhold certified copies and dead bodies, respectively, if their respective professional fees is not paid by respective client and relatives of dead person. The course of action to recover the said professional fees is by way of issuing a legal notice and then file a suit for recovery of said professional fee if any legally due.
