Renewal of lease agreement

Suppose one agreement for lease of an immovable property expires and as per the clause of the agreement it is renewable. Now if we go for a fresh agreement for renewal of the lease agreement is the registration of the fresh agreement mandatory?

All the agreement are beeing renewal with stupulated period which have mentioned in the existing agreement. if once the agreement laps then fresh agreement should be made

Whether fresh agreement or renewed agreement, if the period of lease exceeds eleven months, it is compulsory to draw the agreement on stamp papers of appropriate value and register the lease agreement.
