Even in TV they are now openly showing mother slapping children. Is it really ok? In Hitler didi, the girl openly slaps the man, is it ok?
In other word, suppose a man slaps his wife, does it automatically become 498a? or does it become 498a when she is forced to suicide type relationship or when her limbs are in danger?
(likely to drive the woman to commit suicide or to cause grave injury or danger to life, limb or health (whether mental or physical) of the woman)

498a provides for punishmnet for harassment of sife by husband and his family for dowry.

slapping is punishable under section 323 IPC. BUT to constitute an offence u/s 498 A single instance in not enough. There must be continuous physical or mental or both type of torture demanding dowry is necessary to constitute 498 A IPC.

1. 498a is not necessarily for dowry. Point 2 is about dowry.
2. What is similar crime is done by wife to husband driving him to suicide (Mentally or physically) or loss of limmb, is there any punishment?
3. What is similar crime is done by father to child driving him to suicide (Mentally or physically) or loss of limmb, is there any punishment?

They talk against showing smoking in movies, why should you allow violance in serial? How can a girl in court goand slap a person, even though he was the rapist? Or how can a girl so openly slap his boy friend?
Such action make people thing slapping is acceptable in law.
I think it is high time to make society aware of the laws of what is acceptable and what is not. Many times we suffer because we are not aware of the law.

Only way this can be done is with help from qualified people like you.
We must write a booklet in simple words explaining everything truthfully.
Publish them privately or through law ministry
Find NGOs who are ready to make short movies and end with explanation what is good and what is not
At the ead, we also should leave a few open questions to the law about existing problems of law related to male and children rights in comparison to that of other countries
