What should i do to protect from 498a

Hello!

I have been married for 3 yrs & had differences with my wife. But I have never treated her badly.

My wife had gone to her Fathers home and didn't return. Later my In laws came and said they wanted divorce.

Now they are demanding all her belongings backs (including valuables) and have hinted for a compensation of 30L. They are pressuring us by telling law is in their favor.

Please guide me what should be done & how to protect my family from false charges.

when did your wife leave your residence? how many months have passed. ?
send emails/letters to your wife requesting her to come back .

file an application for restiution of conjugal rights before they file for divorce .

Lodge a complaint in the local police about their threats and arm twisting.
Yes you can file a suit for RCR or for Divorce as per your priority.

She left around 24 days back. We have tried to contact her several times but in vain.

Today we got a message from them again that they shall not send her back. They want us to return all her valuables and then discuss other matters.

They have hinted that they want a compensation of aroung 25L!

Can I apply for Anticipatory Bail?
