I got my divorce 2 weeks before and I had paid my lawyer as and when he has asked. Now since the case is over by mutual consent after 3 years delay , he is asking for 50000Rs just like that. I will not be able to give such huge sums to him.. What options do I have ? He says unless I give him the money, he wont give me my divorce copy. how to deal with this unethical lawyer who is behind my money..

If your allegations are indeed true then you can lodge complaint against him in the Bar Council.
Complaining with the Police is another option.
But you have to show the proof of payments.

Mr. Ashutosh is absolutely correct.....
Just apply for a certified copy..
you shall get the forms from a local stationery vendor inside the court premises..
fill it up and give it in the copy branch [ask anyone they shall guide to the copy branch]....
Affix judicial stamps worth Rs.20 on the form [just to be on the safe side]..
after that give that form in the copy branch and they shall give u a receipt for the same giving you the date for collection of the copy..
Apply in urgent [just 10 Rs. more worth of stamps affix on the form] buy judicial stamps of Rs. 30 [Rs.10 x 3]....
Whatever date they give you go 3-4 days after that... sometimes copy branch people are not able to find the file or there is a delay in finding the file... I am saying this so that you don't have to go to courts again and again....
Rest if you still have any problems your queries are always welcomed....

He says he "had paid my lawyer as and when he has asked."then it was date wise.
Go as suggested by M/s ashutosh mishra and Arvind Sehdev.

you don' have to depend on your advocate for getting the certified copy of order. You can apply for certified copy on your own. Act as advised by Mr. Arvind.

But I do not think the case has been finally dealt with by the advocate.

Shri Arvind had guided well, do it & get certified copy.
You being party to suit, you have a right to get it.
Any petition writer, clerk will do the needful, you only submit your application for true copy , & collect when copies are ready

Agreed with Mr. Barman.
If the case is dealt by advocate, he can ask for the negotiated fee legally.
